Kathy was born in Pittsburgh, PA., to Johnny Farrar and Marjorie Nevada Hogan. She attended slippery Rock State College where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She later earned her Masters Degree in Reading from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She taught school for more than 20 years and was an innovative and dedicated teacher with a true passion for teaching kids to read.

Survived by her mother, one son, Mitchell William Caldwell, one daughter, Nevada Jean Presley and two grandchildren, Kathy's family knows most her dedication to those she loved. She will be profoundly missed.

During her life Kathy Farrar did many interesting things. She was an artist, an avid hiker, and mountain climber. She enjoyed traveling, studying teaching methods, spending time with friends and family and she was always up for something new. Her life was far from ordinary.

Services were held on Thursday, April 18 in Colorado Springs. Interment will be on Friday in Fruita, Colorado. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in her name to the Literacy Center at Turman Elementary School, 3245 Springnite Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80915. 719 -579-2195.

JOYCE JANE McGEE

Joyce Jane McGee, loving wife and mother, born September 28, 1929 in Adrian, MI., passed away April 15, 2002 in Colorado Springs.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, and her 6 children, Richard Webster, Dean Webster, Jack Webster, Rod Webster, Debbie Messenger and Danny Webster; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She worked at St. Francis Hospital for 17 years.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 1:00 p.m. at the Danny Webster residence, 4306 Friar Lane in Colorado Springs.

RUTH ELSA CARREIRO

Ruth Elsa Carreiro, 73, passed away on April 16, 2002 at home in Colorado Springs.

She was born on August 15, 1928 in Germany, to Karl and Paula Ott, who are deceased. Ruth was married on September 3, 1955 in Augsburg, Germany to Edward A. Carreiro, who is surviving. She was a homemaker.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2002 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Memorial Services will follow at 10:00 A.M.

Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.

KENT CARTER

Kent Carter, 59, passed away at his home in homestead Florida on April 15, 2002 after a 6 month bout with cancer.

Kent was born June 2, 1942 in Colby Kansas to Darrel and Wanda (Huchins) Carter. He was raised in Colorado Springs, and graduated from Wasson High School in 1960. He retired from the Air Force in 1982. He was near retirement as a Veteran's Services Officer for Miami/Dade County. He is survived by his wife Rosie, his parents Darrel and Wanda Carter, and his sister and her husband, Bill and Konnie Sandras. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
