PAUL P. KARR

Paul P. Karr passed away May 10, 2002 in Colorado Springs at the age of 81.

He was a native of Colorado Springs and was born October 14, 1920 to Lawrence and Hazel Kennedy Karr, deceased. He married Fayetta Reeves on June 7, 1950.

In his early years, he was a teacher and in later life he was employed by Tom Dollar Painting Co. He enjoyed Christian and Classical music, Camping, and the great Colorado Mountains.

He is survived by his loving wife, Fayetta and children: son Stephen, five daughters; Iris Brown, Violet Karr, Sarah Karr, Susan Gordon and Stephanie Smith. Eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, one brother Ben of Lakewood, CO, three sisters, Ruth Lacy of Watertown, SD, Edith Ganger and Mary Rotz both of Colorado Springs and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 14, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave.

Funeral services Wednesday May 15, 10:30 a.m. at Indian Heights Church of the Nazarene, 2120 King Street.

Interment, Fairview Cemetery.

MARTHA K. HALES (MATTIE)

Martha K. Hales (Mattie). Born June 3, 1923 passed away May 8, 2002. Beloved sister to Lora (Polly) Ragan. Loving Aunt to Perry III and Robert Ragan (wife, Laurie), Steven, Leonard Jr. and Keith Knight, Donna Jo Knight. Great-Aunt to Amy Ragan, Tamara Dowless, Janie Knight and Joey Falls. You are in our hearts forever.

MARY CATHERINE PRIOR (BOENINGER)

Mary Catherine Prior, age 54, died peacefully at her home on May 11 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

A long time resident of Colorado Springs, Mary Catherine was the Vice-President and Co-founder of Women of Hope Ministries, Inc. She was previously a manager of Public Relations, Promotions and Advertising for the Colorado Springs Symphony.

She was one of seven children born to William and Mary Prior of April 18, 1948 in San Diego, CA.

Her brother Joseph Frank Prior preceded her in death on April 23, 1997. Mary Catherine is survived by three children, Daria, Brian and Anita Boeninger, her parents, William and Mary Prior, and five siblings, Cindy Prior, Beth Prior Breeden, William Prior Jr., Victoria Prior and Angie Prior Dement.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at Summit Christian Fellowship Church at 1515 N. Academy from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Summit Christian Fellowship, in the basement level of the Pueblo State Bank and Trust Building at 1515 N. Academy at 2:30 p.m.

JAMES EDWARD DAUGHERTY

James Edward Daugherty, 60, passed away May 11, 2002. Survived by his mother, Agnes Daugherty of Colorado Springs; children, Alan (Melissa) Daugherty of Glenwood, Arkansas, Jill (Bill) Anderson of Canon City and Jay (Mary) Daugherty of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Ivy Anderson and Matt Daugherty; siblings, Richard (Cricket) Daugherty, Bob (Jan) Daugherty, Melva (Jim) Meyer, Tom (Jan) Daugherty and Marcia McKnight; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Melvin Leroy Daugherty.

James was born September 28, 1941, in Julesburg, Colorado and was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1305 N. Union Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, in Canon City.

BETH EVELYN (HOMAN) HARRISON

Beth Evelyn (Homan) Harrison, born 2/14/32 - South Amboy, NJ, departed - 4/23/02 in Jacksonville, FL while visiting.

Worked for the Broadmoor Hotel -1970-78, retired as a Home Care Nurse.

Survived by brother Richard Homan, W. Palm Beach, FL, sons - Fred Harrison, Jacksonville, FL, Randolph Harrison, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, daughter, Deborah Riddle, Colorado Springs, daughter-in-law Becky, son-in-law Mark. 4 grandchildren Melissa, David, Robert and Lindsey.

JACK HINES

Born Aug. 29, 1932. Died May 12, 2002.

Pastor, a 42-year Colorado Springs resident. Survived by his wife, Evelyn Hines; three sons, Richard, Timothy and David; and a daughter, Janice Smith. Visitation, 4 to 8 p.m. today, Evergreen Funeral Home. Services, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Evergreen Funeral Home "Chapel of Peace." Interment, Evergreen Cemetery.

OMA MARGARET KLAUS

Born June 14, 1911. Died May 12, 2002.

Caregiver, a lifelong Colorado Springs area resident. Survived by a son, Roger; a daughter, Jacquie Steckel; and a stepdaughter, Dalene Doyle. Services, 1 p.m. Thursday, First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St. Evergreen Funeral Home.

AMADEO J. MARTINEZ

Born April 3, 1903. Died May 13, 2002.

Carpenter, a 63-year Colorado Springs resident. Survived by four sons, Ray, Luther H., Abel J. and Joe G.; and six daughters, Carol Nelson, Violeta "Vi" Rowe, Mary Maser, Jean Bell, Adela Martinez and Donna Martinez. Visitation, 3 to 5 p.m. today, Nolan Funeral Home. Services, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave. Interment, Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
