The show's popularity has been growing since it first began in 1927. Last year, more than 12,000 people attended the event and viewed almost 200 new cars and trucks from 32 manufacturers. Hummer and Lexus join the show this year to make total manufacturer representation 34.
"People don't have to drive all over town to see the new cars," says Ann Winslow, executive director of the Colorado Springs Automobile Dealers Association. "It's an opportunity for consumers to view all models under one roof.
"Whether people are ready to buy now, a month from now, six months from now or next year, they can have their questions answered about various models from representatives of the local dealerships.
"The show also is for people who like to experience all the senses of a new vehicle - the feel, touch and smell of a new auto," Winslow adds.
