FAWN FOSTER FRIDAY
May 10, 1921 - March 29, 2003
Born May 10, 1921 in Beatrice, NE., he enlisted in the Nebraska National Guard in 1938. He experienced three combat engagements in World War II, two of which were beach landings, and the 1000 mile walk as a member of Merrilla's Marauders. Making a career of the Army, during the Korean War, he served as a military advisor, and subsequently was deployed on two occupational tours. He married Doris Maxine Carter, of Eminence, IN., in 1950, who passed away in 1999. With his family at his side, he also did tours in Schwabach, Germany and Tokorazawa, Japan. He volunteered for duty in Vietnam, also as a military advisor in 1965, and was again redeployed with the Rangers in 1967. He retired from the Army in 1972, and worked for many years at Johnnies Liquor Store on South Nevada Avenue. He passed away in his sleep at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Florence.

He is survived by his sons, Stanley in Peoria, IL., Stephen in Pt. Richmond, CA.; and daughter, Gloria Grose in Cleveland, Ohio.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2003, Memorial Gardens Chapel, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, with entombment to follow. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, April 4, 2003, at Swan Law Funeral Directors.
JOSEPH DANNER, JR.
Joseph Danner, 54, of Fort Collins, CO., passed away on March 31, 2003 in Fort Collins. Private family services will be held in Carroll, Iowa. Cremation will be completed.
Joseph Danner was born on May 23, 1948, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Donald Joseph Danner, Sr., and Elizabeth Schieffer Danner. He had been a resident of Colorado Springs for 20 years, and had resided in Fort Collins for the past nine years. He graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, Iowa and attended Iowa State University.
Mr. Danner owned and operated Danner Electric since 1983. He was an avid nature photographer and loved hiking and landscaping.
He is survived by his wife, Gail of Fort Collins; his parents, Don and Betty Danner of Carroll, Iowa; and a son, Jason Danner of Dallas, TX. Also surviving are two brothers: Rich Danner of Houma, LA., and Jim Danner of Beaverton, OR.; and six sisters, Shirley Peters of Carroll, Iowa; Judy Feilmeier of Elkhorn, NE.; Deb Collison of Carroll, Iowa; Carol Groeber of Aurora, IL.; Jayne Diedrich of Plainfield, IL., and Michelle Gast of Lake Zurich, IL.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Danner, and his grandparents, Richard and Elizabeth Schieffer, and Ben and Clara Danner.

MARGARET SCHOLES BURTIS
April 1, 1920 - March 30, 2003
Margaret Mary (Margie) Burtis was born in Council Grove, KS., the oldest daughter of Rex E. Scholes and Margaret Louise Laing Scholes.
She is survived by her sister, Joanne Scholes Hill (Dave) and her four children, Susan Gaulding (Scott), Kathie Alvis (Don), Libby Burtis and Bob Burtis. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
Following cremation, a private memorial was held at the Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, and at Mount St. Francis Nursing Home in Colorado Springs, where she had lived the past two years.
GEORGE E. MAYBERRY
George E. Mayberry died April 2, 2003 in Colorado Springs. He was born July 7, 1935 to Walter Mayberry and Ruby Paraday Mayberry in Colorado Springs.
George graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1953. He took an early retirement from Hewlett-Packard in 1986.
He was married to Soni Koelling on November 25, 1974.
George is survived by his wife and seven children - Mark Mayberry of Colorado Springs; David Mayberry of Tampa, FL.; Daniel Mayberry of Oberlin, KS.; Karen Reiners of Sterling, CO.; Kathleen Castorena of Rackerby, CA.; Shirley Mayberry of Durango, CO.; Eve'va Kolar of Oberlin, KS.; along with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
An Open House for friends and family will be held as a celebration of his life on Saturday, April 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Giuseppe's Depot. No other services are planned at his request.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice.
