I attended public schools in Akron, Ohio and my children attend D- 11 schools.

Top priority in education: Student achievement is the top priority. D-11 has been complacent while schools continue to under perform. Money needs to get to the classroom, not the administration. Parents and teachers need more choices and authority in meeting the educational needs of students. Accountability at all levels is a must

I attended Fort Sumner (N.M.) Public Schools; my children attended D-11 schools.

Top priority in education: I decided to run for school board because was I was tired of attending informational sessions and always hearing the same thing, drop-out rates are to high and CSAP scores are too low, especially for students of color. Change only takes place when actively involved within the system.
