Denver 'Picnic' moves indoors

William Inge's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Picnic" tells the story of a small Kansas town that is riled by the arrival of a handsome stranger. He takes odd jobs, steals the ladies' hearts and generally instigates change among people who had been content to forget their past. The show at Denver's Stage Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts complex, 1245 Champa St., runs through Nov. 15. Tickets are $27 to $43 and times vary. Check www.denvercenter.org or call 1-800-641-1222 for details.

Every day's like Halloween for the mad metalheads of Mudvayne.

Just never you mind if they revert to their old masks, KISS-ish makeup or otherwise ghoulish behavior.

Either way, Tuesday's performance at the Fillmore Auditorium (1510 Clarkson St., at Colfax) will be full of dark guitar crunching, brutal rhythmic energy and ferocious guttural growling. We'll just call it the squeal-good show of the week. Tickets are $23 from Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster. com or 520-9090.

Sedaris show in Boulder sold out

His witty, spot-on and on-the spot perception of his surroundings ceases when David Sedaris steps on stage.

Time stands still as he buries his nose in his notes and reads his painfully funny past observations to a rapt audience.

Monday's show at the Boulder Theater, 1135 13th St., is sold out. But you never know. Call 1-303-786-7030 for a $30 day-of-sale long shot.
