JOSEPH TOMAN JR.
Joseph Toman, Jr., (Joe) passed away on November 1, 2003, in Manitou Springs, CO, at the age of 92. Services will be held at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown, WI, on November 14, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.
Joe was born to Joseph and Anastasia Toman on December 10, 1910 in Kaukauna, WI, and was married to Darleen Gerlach in Dubuque, Iowa on April 1, 1939. During their marriage of 56 years, they were blessed with two sons - Joel (Katherine) of Manitou Springs, CO, Corby (Joan) of Watertown, WI, and three daughters, Pamela, Latisha (Tom) Irwin of Newbury Park, CA, and Kieara (Wayne) White of Parker, CO.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1939 with a degree in Liberal Arts and, in 1942, went to work as Sports Editor for the Watertown Daily Times in Watertown, WI. After retiring as Managing Editor in 1973, he and his wife moved to Colorado, where they lived until his wife retired from the Colorado Springs School District. At that time, they moved to Midwest, WY, returning to Manitou Springs six years later.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish, hike and camp, particularly in the West. His storytelling skills were shared around many campfires with family and friends. Through his many years as a craftsman, he built two homes in Watertown, and added his expertise in family remodeling projects. He also loved to spend time with his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
His wife Darleen, his daughter Pamela, and sisters Barbara, Mary and Anna, preceded him in death.

EDWARD JAMES SCHULTZ
Edward James Schultz, of Colorado Springs, Colorado died on Saturday, November 1, 2003 at the age of 78.
Ed was born on January 13, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Elizabeth Schultz who are both deceased. Ed grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago and was the oldest of two sons.
He graduated from Taft High School and attended the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Ed served his country during World War II for three years from March 1943 to January 1946. He served as a corporal in the 48th Bomb Squad of the Army Air Corps. Ed worked as an aircraft electrician in the Pacific Theater in Guam and Okanawa, where he received the Bronze Battle Star. Upon honorable discharge from the military. Ed returned to Chicago where he became a carpenter. He joined the Carpenters Union Local No.1 in 1952.
Ed worked on a variety of residential and commercial projects in Chicago for 25 years. Ed retired and moved to Colorado Springs in 1977.
Ed is survived by his wife of over 50 years Florence Christine (Betti) Schultz; his son James Edward Schultz of Chicago; his daughter Nancy Anne Marie McIntosh of Colorado Springs, his grandsons Corey James McIntosh and Tyler Paul McIntosh; his son-in-law, Bill McIntosh, his daughter-in-law, Lisa Schultz; and his younger brother Daniel Raymond Schultz.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at 1:00 P.M. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Private inurnment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado, on November 5, 2003. Memorial Contributions at the request of Edward may be made to the Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbott Lane, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
