Dean M. Sorell, 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep, June 12, 2004, at his home in Colorado Springs. Born in Vining, Kansas, Dean enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942. He flew 30 combat missions as a B-24 Bomber Engineer-Gunner, earning the distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal (with four oak leaf clusters), the Purple Heart, and several campaign and service medals.
