Without Jeremy Moeller, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox likely could not field a healthy baseball team.

Moeller is the team's trainer and top man when it comes to making sure the players are physically able to perform.

Moeller played football and basketball at Rampart, where he was a 1991 graduate. He attended Colorado State, earning a degree in exercise sports science in 1995.

After college, Moeller landed a job as a trainer with the Minnesota Vikings for the 1996 season. He returned to Colorado Springs in 1997 to work as a trainer for Coronado High School and HealthSouth Rehabilitation.

Moeller was hired by the Colorado Rockies in 1999 and assigned to the organization's Single-A short-season club in Portland. He was in Single-A Salem in 2000 and Double-A Carolina in 2001 and 2002, and Double-A Tulsa in 2003.

He was ecstatic when he learned that he'd be working with the Sky Sox this season.

"Up until this year I wouldn't see my family for six months at a time," Moeller said. "This job is wonderful. I love working with these guys. I basically get paid to watch baseball."

Moeller's brothers also played sports at Rampart. Gabe played for the school's 1994 basketball team. He now works construction in Colorado Springs. Nate was a member of the 1996 state championship basketball team and is a banker in Laramie, Wyo.
