0 Comments | Gazette, The (Colorado Springs), Oct 18, 2004 | by DANNY SUMMERS THE GAZETTE
WIDEFIELD, MESA RIDGE
Foster Stadium
Widefield opened in 1958 without a football stadium. On Oct. 5, 1962, an on-campus stadium was dedicated in honor of Clarence A. Foster, a member of the District 3 School Board. The cost for the stadium was $80,000. In 1963 a scoreboard was donated by four local businessmen at a cost of $1,850.
WOODLAND PARK
The stadium was built in the late 1970s and has never officially been named. It is commonly referred to as Woodland Park Stadium. The track surrounding the stadium is named in honor of Gary Richey, who coached track and field at the school for 28 years.
