Ehn receiving Hobey Baker support

Air Force forward Eric Ehn, who has led the nation in scoring for much of the season, is among the 10 players on the Hobey Baker Award watch list conducted by College Sports Television.

Like college football's Heisman Trophy, the Hobey Baker Award is college hockey's most prestigious individual honor.

Ranked sixth on this week's list, Ehn averages 1.79 points per game and has scored 43 points (19 goals, 24 assists), more than five points better than the next player.

"To say that we anticipated he would be a Hobey Baker candidate would be a stretch," coach Frank Serratore said. "From my perspective, what's been most impressive about his performance this season is his even-strength point production and his ability to score against Denver, Colorado College and Alaska, who are or have been ranked teams."

Earlier this fall, Serratore said he could not recall Air Force having a player with Ehn's offensive abilities.

Ehn also led the Falcons in scoring last season with 14 goals and 21 assists and is on pace to almost double his output.

CC recruiting roundup

Lincoln Stars forward Steve Schultz, who committed to Colorado College earlier this month, was named to the 2007 USHL West Division All-Star team. In 27 games this season, Schultz scored 16 goals and had 12 assists to go with a plus-7 rating. The Westbury, N.Y., native will join the Tigers for the 2007-08 season.

CC recruit Jeff Foss, who visited CC during the Bemidji State series, was added to the Sioux Falls Stampede roster Tuesday. An uncommitted defenseman, Foss will join the Stampede after his season with Moorhead (Minn.) High School is over. Foss was also ranked 151st overall in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term rankings, which were released last week.

Tigers in the pros

Former CC center Trevor Frischmon was recalled to the AHL's Syracuse Crunch from the Dayton Bombers (ECHL) Wednesday. In his rookie season, Frischmon has two goals and five assists.

Former CC left wing Peter Sejna was called up to the St. Louis Blues on an emergency basis Saturday and made an immediate impact. Sejna scored the game-tying goal against Phoenix on Monday. But the Blues lost 5-4 in shootout when Sejna's shot was saved, and the Coyotes' Ladislav Nagy scored for the win.

Travel with the Tigers

Fans can win a trip for two to travel with CC to St. Cloud, Minn., on Feb. 8-11 for the series against No. 6 St. Cloud State. Fans can register at Carl's Jr.

The package includes airfare, hotel, game tickets and spending money.
