Outstanding trees
If you think the aspen is Colorado's most notable tree, you're in dire need of the Colorado Tree Coalition's "Notable Trees of Colorado" 2008 calendar.
Each month features a tree selected not just because of its aesthetic value, but because it has a story behind it or some "est" attached to it: biggest, oldest, rarest.
September 2008, for example, features an apple tree and a pear tree that are survivors of the original orchard at Rock Ledge Ranch circa the 1880s.
The calendars also include tree facts and care tips.
The cost varies from $7.50 for an order of 1 to 2 calendars, to $4 for an order of 26 or more.
Order online at www.coloradotrees.org. Or send a check or money order to Colorado Tree Coalition, P.O. Box 270968, Fort Collins, CO 80527-0968.
Artistic bouquets

It takes place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Julie Penrose annex of St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road. The cost is $10.
