See mountains as a bird

Get a bird's-eye view of the Sangre de Cristos at a program sponsored by the Horticultural Art Society of Colorado Springs.

Wojiech Rychlik (pronounced "woy-check rik-lik"), a molecular biologist with a passion for photography, will present a 3-D show of aerial views of the Sangres, complete with 3-D glasses.

The program starts at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the East Library, 5550 N. Union Blvd.

It's free, but with only 30 3-D glasses available, seating will be limited.

For more information, call 596-4901.

Lay of the landscapes

The Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado has recognized two Colorado Springs landscapes with its Excellence in Landscape Awards.

Nature's Way Waterscapes Inc. of Broomfield won an Award of Excellence in the Water Features category for the fountain at the Corporate Financial Center, 2260 Briargate Parkway.

Landtech Contractors Inc. of Colorado Springs won an Award of Excellence in Landscape Maintenance for its work at Pine Terrace near the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

"What's cool about Pine Terrace is that the property now uses no dangerous chemicals in its maintenance while demonstrating the proper use of water without waste," said Mike Mc-Clure of Landtech Contractors.
