Steady snow, but

roads stay clear

Colorado Springs saw steady snowfall Wednesday evening -- but little accumulation.

The National Weather Service recorded trace amounts, and roads seemed relatively clear of snow and slush.

Snow showers were expected to continue until 1 p.m. today, with between 2 and 6 inches expected, followed by a slight chance of rain. The National Weather Service predicted a high of 41 degrees and a low of 18 degrees. Friday is expected to be clear.

Gates will speak

at NORAD ball

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates will speak at the North American Aerospace Defense Command Golden Jubilee Ball on May 12 at The Broadmoor hotel.

The ball will feature dinner, entertainment, dancing and retrospectives as the command celebrates a 50-year partnership between Canada and the U.S.

Ritter will speak

at UCCS today

Gov. Bill Ritter will speak at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs today about his proposed reforms for K-12 and higher education. The forum will be 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. at The Lodge at UCCS, 1420 Austin Bluffs Parkway.
