Louisiana State University and Tulane University break ground on

The Louisiana State University and Tulane University medical schools broke ground on the site for the $40 million Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium last week. Gov.-elect Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, Lt. Gov.-elect Mitch Landrieu and New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin were among the dignitaries in attendance.
The project, a collaboration between LSU and Tulane, is aimed at attracting top scientists and research-and-development dollars to New Orleans.
