Rouse's Supermarkets, Louisiana's largest independent grocery chain, received a Creative Choice award for the company's television commercials and grand opening campaign for 2003. The National Grocers Association, a national trade association representing independent retail and wholesale grocers, presented the awards Feb. 10 at a meeting in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Creative Choice awards recognize excellence in supermarket and grocery store advertising. The television commercials, titled Crawfish and Bayou Boys BBQ, were written and produced by New Orleans- based Alford Advertising.

Rouse's operates 15 supermarkets in southern Louisiana.
