N.O. law firm dissolving after alleged embezzlement

Staff

New Orleans-based Hoffman, Siegel, Seydel, Bienvenu and Centola, is dissolving following what partners are calling the embezzlement of $2 million. Donald Hoffman, senior partner, said Delbert Lee, chief financial officer, diverted money from payroll taxes for his personal use between 1999 and 2004. Some of the firm's 15 attorneys are forming a new firm, while others are going to work with other New Orleans-area firms. Lee has been arrested and is being held in Orleans Parish Prison.
