Stuff magazine ranks Turbodog as No. 1 beer in America

The staff at Stuff magazine, a monthly geared toward young adult males, ranked the top 80 American-brewed beers in its August issue. It's No. 1 choice: Turbodog from the Abita Brewing Co. in Abita Springs.

The brew crew at Stuff sampled scores of beer brands before settling on its rankings for the article Red, White and Brew. Turbodog earned highest marks for its rich body and color and chocolate-toffee flavor.

We're pleased the rest of the country will find out what the folks in Louisiana already know - Turbodog is a great beer, said David Blossman, Abita Brewing Co. president.

Turbodog was created in 1990 when the brewery was celebrating its fourth anniversary. Abita Brewing Co. turned out 1,500 barrels of beer when it opened in 1986. Today it produces 52,000 barrels and is distributed in 30 states.
