Young Leadership Council volunteer hours add up

The Young Leadership Council today released its year-end impact figures for 2005 showing 381 YLC volunteers gave 10,103 hours to community service in the New Orleans area through 302 separate YLC project and committee activities.These numbers are a true testament to the dedication our volunteers have to this city, said YLC President Lee Reid.

Our membership never wavers in its commitment to better this city for all New Orleanians. Though we recognize the difficulties ahead, we are extremely excited about helping rebuild New Orleans.Now in its 20th year, the YLC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic organization created to develop leadership through community projects involving arts and culture, community services, economic development, leadership development, education and youth enrichment. Major projects include the Proud To Call It Home campaign, creating the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and the Festival of Fins.
