Relief fund donates $30,000 to Farmers Market

>Twelve Gulf region food producers who are part of the Crescent City Farmers Market will receive $30,000 from Slow Food USA's Terra Madre Katrina Relief Fund, Loyola University New Orleans officials announced today.The money will be divided among the 12 fisherman, farmers and restaurateurs who make up the Crescent City Farmers Market.The Terra Madre Katrina Relief Fund strives to help restore local agriculture heritage that was damaged by Katrina.The Farmers Market is an endeavor of Loyola's Economics Institute, whose mission is to initiate and promote ecologically sound economic growth in the greater New Orleans region.
