Young Leadership Council cleanup project targets Central City

Young Leadership Council volunteers cleaned up a Central City neighborhood this past weekend and will continue its Neighborhood Renaissance Project in Central City from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 15 and 16.The mission of the Neighborhood Renaissance Project is to rebuild, revitalize and restore the New Orleans area, one neighborhood at a time, through community service, enrichment and beautification activities, YLC officials said.Our goal is to work with Central City community groups to identify the needs of the neighborhood and create long-term sustainable programs that engage our membership and Central City residents in the revitalization of this historically important area of New Orleans, said YLC President Lee Reid.
