Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development issue Easter

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development today advised motorists of upcoming work schedules for interstate and major road projects throughout Louisiana for Easter weekend.Johnny Bradberry, DOTD secretary, urged motorists to use extra caution when traveling on the roadways during the upcoming holiday weekend, especially at rail crossings.
In the New Orleans area, U.S. 90 at the Chef Menteur Pass Bridge will be closed to traffic. Also, all lanes of Interstate 310, I-510 and I-610 will be open. The twin- span bridge on I-10 may periodically be reduced to one lane for maintenance. In the Hammond area and surrounding parishes, all lanes of I-10, I-12, I-59 and I-55 will remain open. In East Baton Rouge Parish, construction continues on La. 964 from the East Feliciana Parish line to La. 64. La. 964 will be closed to through traffic from the Pride-Port Hudson road to La. 955. A detour route is posted for this area. All other areas of La. 964 will have no lane restrictions.Also in East Baton Rouge Parish, construction continues on I-10 from Siegen Lane to Bluebonnet Road interchanges. The lane width narrows in this section; however, no lane closures will occur. Construction also continues on the U.S. 61 (Airline Highway) intersection with Siegen Lane and Sherwood Forest Boulevard. No lane closures will result from this construction. However, there will be a lane closure in areas of Airline Highway between Cedarcrest and Florida Boulevard from 8 p.m. Friday, April 14, to 6 a.m. Saturday, April 15. At least one lane will remain open in both directions at all times.
