June 26

St. Roch/St. Claude neighborhood rebuilding meeting, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1835 St. Roch Ave.; 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

June 27

Arts Grants Workshops, Old Metairie Library, 2350 Metairie Road; 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Workshop on applying for arts funding through hurricane relief programs. Call 838-4353 for information. Free and open to the public. Friends of the Jefferson Parish Library Book Sale, East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave., and West Bank Regional Library, 2751 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both locations. Books will generally be priced from 50 cents to $3. Westbank Desk & Derrick Club membership meeting, Westbank Holiday Inn, 100 Westbank Expressway, Gretna; social hour at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. Anyone interested in attending these monthly meetings or joining the club, contact Angie Duplessis, president, at 656-3221.

Loyola University string quartet benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity, Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Ave.; 8 p.m. Professors from Loyola will perform a free concert, with all donations going to Habitat's Musicians Village. Includes quartets by Prokofieff, Haydn and Brahms. Contact Elizabeth Dalferes at 861-5882 for information.
