The following calendar of business meetings and events is for April 23-29. The deadline for submissions to the business calendar is 10 days prior to publication date.

April 23

The Prevention Research Center at Tulane University will hold a public health seminar on inner-city food desserts, "Food Deserts and Health Outcomes: An Analysis of Chicago with Snapshots of Other Urban Centers." The seminar will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Suite 1201 Tidewater Building 1440 Canal St.

Nunez Community College will hold a "PTEC Summit" on process technology at the Chalmette campus. A reception will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m.; the lecture series begins at 7 p.m. For more information contact Michelle Minor at 278-7422 or e-mail mminor@nunez.edu.

April 26

Cancer Crusaders will hold its Crusader Parade at 11:30 a.m. at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside Hotel. A reception for life members and patrons will begin at 10 a.m. Tickets are $50 to attend the luncheon, $65 to attend the patron party and the luncheon as well as get recognition and $100 for the patron party and the luncheon, recognition and front-row seating. April 28

The Windsor Court will present a concert showcasing Irvin Mayfield to celebrate the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The concert begins at 9 p.m. in Le Chinoiserie the hotel's 23rd floor ballroom. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. A cash bar is available and complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served. Price per person is $60 and includes valet parking. Cocktail service is available during the performance.
