La.-based Entergy Corp. splits Louisiana, Texas operations

Entergy Corp. can separate its Louisiana and Texas operations, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has ruled.
The transaction will not raise rates or adversely affect competition or regulation, the commission said in approving the change, which will result in two separate utilities: Entergy Gulf States Louisiana LLC and Entergy Texas Inc.
The companies will be controlled by Entergy Corp., which requested the separation to make it easier to meet state-specific regulations.
