Public meeting on Gentilly recovery set for Thursday

HouseRaising Inc. will play host to a public meeting to discuss Gentilly rebuilding progress from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the company's New Orleans Design Center, 4030 Canal St.

Speakers will include City Councilwoman Cynthia Hedge-Morrell, who will give an update on planning for Gentilly; Yolanda Rodriguez, executive director of the City Planning Commission, who will speak about citywide planning; and Vera Triplett, of the Gentilly Neighborhood Association.

HouseRaising is a Charlotte, N.C.-based company that acts as general manager for custom homebuilders. The company also helps buyers design homes and matches them with homebuilders.

HouseRaising held a grand opening of its New Orleans Design Center in August.
