A Post-Katrina Crime Mystery, 7 p.m. at the Jefferson Parish East bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave. in Metairie. Author Eric Spindler will discuss and read from her novel "Last Known Victim." A question and answer session and book signing will follow the discussion. Copies of "Last Known Victim" will be available for purchase through Friends of Jefferson Public Library. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is not necessary. Looking Back at Aug. 29, 2005 An Artist's View of New Orleans Before and After Katrina, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Algiers Point Hubbell Library, 725 Pelican St. Phil Sandusky has painted New Orleans cityscapes before and after Katrina. Sandusky will be discussing his book "Painting Katrina" and signing copies, which will be available for purchase. Forty percent of the proceeds will go to Friends of the Library to help in rebuilding efforts. Sheriff Marlin Gusman's Thanksgiving Day Feast, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Ernest N. The Origin of Life on Earth, 1 p.m. at the Samuel Dubois Cook Theatre on the campus of Dillard University, 2501 Gentilly Blvd. The dance/theater production is based on the African legend of how Earth and the first people were created according to the Yoruba culture. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children, students and the elderly. "The Girl in the Frame", 7:30 p.m. at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre, 177 Sala Ave., Westwego. The play is rated R. Admission is $26 for adults, $23 for seniors, $19 for students and $12 for children. There will be a buffet beginning at 5:30 p.m. each night with tickets $15 for adults and $8 for children.
