New Orleans CityBusiness, Jan 29, 2008
Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business has been named one of the 10 best schools for finance in the world by the global business newspaper Financial Times.
Tulane was ranked 10th.
The ranking, which appeared in Monday's issue, is based on the recommendations of more than 11,000 Master of Business Administration alumni from around the world who responded to this year's Financial Times survey.
Other finance programs making the list include New York University's Stern School of Business, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester, University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and Columbia Business School.
"We are delighted to be considered among the very best in the world in the area of finance," said Angelo S. DeNisi, Freeman dean. "This ranking is especially gratifying because it is based on the recommendations of MBA graduates working alongside our alumni in the marketplace."
In addition to the finance ranking, the Financial Times placed the Freeman's overall MBA program 46th among U.S. schools and 80th internationally. Last year, Freeman ranked 58th nationally and 95th internationally on the list.
Freeman was established in 1914 and is a founding member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the premier accrediting body for business schools.
Today, Freeman has more than 1,500 students in programs spanning three continents.
