'Rob and Bo' sign off New Orleans radio station 99.5 FM

New Orleans CityBusiness, Feb 4, 2008

New Orleans radio station 99.5 FM canceled the "Rob and Bo Show" because it could not work out the time crunch for former mayoral candidate Rob Couhig, who worked with longtime radio personality Bo Walker. The show aired from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Couhig said the unofficial cancellation is likely.

"I don't think we're going to be on," Couhig said. "I've been asking them (station management) since last fall to try and work with me on my schedule and they have not been able to."

Couhig and former insurance Commissioner Jim Brown have been off the air since Wednesday, according to the station's Web site, which still lists Brown as a host but no longer lists Couhig and Walker.

Brown said his show will return in February after an extended vacation.

Dick Lewis, regional vice president, denied any shows have been canceled yet but said the station is going through a metamorphosis as decisions are made about what shows will remain on the air.

An advertisement on the "job opportunities" section of the site lists an opening for an on-air personality to fill the morning time slot, where reruns of the syndicated Sean Hannity show are now filling air.
