N.O.'s WWNO names new general manager

WWNO-FM, the only National Public Radio affiliate in the New Orleans area, has named Paul Maassen its new general manager. The station is housed at the University of New Orleans' lakefront campus.
Maasen was selected following a nationwide search conducted by Livingston Associates, a public media executive search firm.
Since 2006, Maassen has served as general manager of WYSO public radio in the Dayton, Ohio, market.
Prior to joining WYSO, he was the general manager of WNTI-FM in Hackettstown, N.J.
He has also owned a radio and television commercial production house and has worked as a host on several commercial radio stations in New Jersey and New York.

A 1985 graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Penn., Maassen has a master's degree in business administration from Centenary College in Hackettstown.
