State Sen. Cheryl Gray invites residents of Senate District 5 to a town meeting to discuss the benefits of legislation for the formation of security districts. The formation would include the Carrollton-Riverbend Neighborhood Association Security District, the Holly Grove Neighborhood Security District, the Maple Area Residents Security Tax District and the Pensiontown Subdivision Improvement District. Coldwater Creek in Lakeside Shopping Center will hold "Try It On for the Cure," a fundraising benefit for the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which raised funds for breast cancer research. Throughout the day, Coldwater Creek will donate $1 to the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for every shopper who tries on their clothes at its Lakeside store. No purchase is necessary. For shoppers who make a purchase, the company will donate 10 percent of the event sales to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Old Metairie Road Business Association's golf tournament will take place at Colonial Golf and Country Club with a putting contest and lunch at 11 a.m. and tee off at Noon.
