Louisiana Purchase Venture Capital Forum announces the Call for

The Louisiana Purchase Venture Capital Forum recently announced the Call for Business Plans in conjunction with its annual event. The call is designed to identify companies that will ultimately be selected to present at the forum, with the goal of securing investment capital.

Ideal presenters will be emerging growth companies with a headquarters or significant operating presence in Louisiana. Target sectors include: biotechnology, information technology, telecommunications, environmental technology, agriculture and food technology, manufacturing and materials, industrial and energy.

The deadline for business plans is Friday, Sept. 5, and should be submitted to submissions@la-purchase.com. Submitting a business plan is free. For more information about the forum and the Call for Business Plans, visit www.la-purchase.com.

The forum, which is in its ninth year, gives Louisiana entrepreneurs a single venue to attract investment capital, while providing educational assistance to those companies preparing for growth. This year's event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21 - Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Lod and Carole Cook Conference Center on Louisiana State University's Baton Rouge campus.

The Louisiana Purchase Venture Capital Forum is presented by the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Baton Rouge Technology Council, Louisiana Business & Technology Center, Louisiana Business Incubation Association, Louisiana Economic Development, Louisiana Fund I, Louisiana SBDC Network, Louisiana State University, Louisiana Tech University, Louisiana Technology Park, LSU's Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, Tulane University and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
