The Rev. J.D. Washington, pastor of Calvary Temple Baptist Church, 2539 N. 4th St., died Thursday at St. Luke's Medical Center. He was 69.
Washington was a member of the Southern Baptist Conference since 1962. He worked for 30 years at Allis-Chalmers Corp., where he retired as a crane operator about 15 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Annie; a son, James Washington; two daughters, Joann Moncrieffe and Susie Thompson; and a brother, Clarence Washington.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the New Golden Gate Funeral Home, 5665 N. Teutonia Ave., with the family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2207 N. 2nd St. Burial will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield.
