Marquette University extends Bradley Center lease

Daily Reporter (Milwaukee), Oct 31, 2006 by Daily Reporter Staff

The Bradley Center will remain the place to catch Marquette University Golden Eagles men's basketball games through 2011.

The team will enjoy some fresh digs as well.

Under an agreement signed this week, Marquette extended its lease at the Bradley Center, which will renovate and expand the home team locker room.

Marquette, which joined the Big East Conference last year, will also receive additional advertising and revenue sponsorship opportunities, as well as a portion of merchandise sales at its games.

The university will continue to share suite revenue with the Bradley Center.

Steve Costello, president and CEO of the Bradley Center, praised the relationship between the Marquette basketball team and the Bradley Center and added that it is "stronger than ever."

"Marquette is an incredibly important and valued tenant of the Bradley Center," Costello said in a statement. "The team brings hundreds of thousands of fans to the Bradley Center and downtown Milwaukee during the 20-plus games they play at home each season."

The new lease calls for the Golden Eagles to be given priority game dates after the Milwaukee Bucks -- who also recently extended their Bradley Center lease -- and use of the expanded Club Cambria and the remodeled Courtside Club.

"The Bradley Center board and staff have helped Marquette Basketball deliver to its fans one of the best college basketball experiences in the nation," Marquette Associate Vice President Steve Cottingham said. "We look forward to many more thrilling seasons together on the Al McGuire Court at the Bradley Center."
