Stephen Wallace

Sealord Group has appointed Wallace as its new chief financial officer, replacing current CFO Paul McGuinness. A graduate of programmes at Insead, Stanford and Michigan Business Schools, Wallace was previously chief information officer and commercial director transformation for Fonterra.

Tim Smith

The appointment of Smith to the newly created role of national mobile manager for Cogent Communications, follows the company's announcement that it has secured a reseller agreement with Vodafone. In his new role Smith will be responsible for combining Cogent's nationwide sales and service network with Vodafone's mobility solutions.

Darren Levy

The University of Auckland Business School has appointed Levy as its director of Short Courses. A recent graduate from Excelerator - The NZ Leadership Institute's future leaders programme, Levy has been with Short Courses since 1998 and has served as associate director for the past two years.

Wayne Pickup, Jude Urlich

NZ Lotteries has made two executive appointments. Pickup, previously IT projects director, is now chief information officer, responsible for IT operations, providing strategic direction and centralised management of staff and budgets. Urlich, most recently director of public affairs at Victoria University, has been appointed head of communications and government relations.

Chrissie Lahood

Advertising agency Y&R has promoted Lahood, the agency's creative director for the past six years, to managing director of its Wellington office. Beginning her career in the early '80s as a writer Lahood has also spent time with Saatchi & Saatchi where she was responsible for Mainland Cheese and Telecom Mobile accounts.

Steve Bridges

Marketing, media and corporate consulting firm The Marketing Bureau has appointed Bridges, a well-known marketing academic and practitioner, as its chairman.

Gary Wicks

Wicks is the new New Zealand country manager for Toshiba's information systems division, replacing Callum Eade who is pursuing his dream to become an ironman. Wicks has more than 20 years' experience in the sales and marketing of technology products in New Zealand.

Catherine Lo-Giacco

Manpower New Zealand has promoted Lo-Giacco to general manager of its New Zealand operations. A Manpower employee for the past 13 years she has held management positions in New Zealand, the UK and Asia Pacific including three years as the company's sales and marketing director for Asia.

Miriam Lips

A research fellow at Oxford University's Internet Institute and an associate professor in the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology & Society at Tilburg University in The Netherlands, Lips has been appointed as the inaugural chair in eGovernment at Victoria University of Wellington. She will take up this position - believed to be only the second such chair in the world - early next year.

Alan Stenger

The University of Auckland Business School and Ports of Auckland have appointed Stenger as the first Ports of Auckland chair in logistics and supply chain management, a position established to combine academic knowledge and insight with commercial knowledge, practice and experience. The chair is funded by Ports of Auckland with a $1 million grant over five years.

Chris De Boer

Following the retirement of inaugural chairman John Grant, de Boer has been appointed as the next chair of the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund (NZVIF). A senior practitioner in the New Zealand venture capital markets, he has over 30 years' experience in investment banking, takeover regulation, private equity and corporate finance in London, Hong Kong and Australasia.

Greg Currie

Most recently sales manager of Harcourts Taupo office, Currie is now the company's new business development manager for the corporate team in Auckland. As such, he will have responsibility for 32 Harcourts offices in north and west Auckland as well as the far north.
