Westpac was the only company from this part of the world that made it to the 99-strong list of the Worlds Most Ethical Companies for 2009. Compiled by Ethisphere and based on nominations received from companies in over 100 countries and 35 industries, the list is based on weighted criteria ranging from corporate citizenship/ responsibility and legal/regulatory/reputation track record to executive leadership (tone from the top) and internal systems and ethics/compliance programmes.
