Legendary US graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister heads a star- studded cast of speakers at Semi-Permanent '08, the big design event scheduled at the Aotea Centre Auckland Friday & Saturday August 15 & 16.

Sagmeister once slashed DIY text onto his own skin for a now- iconic '90s poster and is variously described as a genius, maniac, tactician and exhibitionist. His clients and collaborators include the Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, David Byrne, HBO, and the Guggenheim Museum.

Also on the bill: NZ photographer Derek Henderson, Canadian illustrator Marian Bantjes, Andrew van der Westhuyzen from Australian design & film collective Collider, UK software developer Karsten Schmidt (Toxi), UK brand specialist Bryan Edmondson (SEA Design), Aussie-based Kiwi publisher Kate Bezar (Dumbo feather), Australian designer David Pidgeon, graphic designers Kelvin Soh & Simon Oosterdijk of The Wilderness Auckland, and US film & tv titles designer Danny Yount.
