THE Malaysian Institute of Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of
Management and Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants jointly
organised the 14th `National Annual Corporate Report Awards' recently.
Created to recognise and encourage excellence in the presentation of
financial and business information, the awards has five categories:
Overall Excellence Award, Industry Excellence Awards, Presentation Awards,
Environmental Reporting, and Special Award for Non-Listed Organisations.
This year saw Public Bank Bhd bagging the overall excellence award while
Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd walked home with two awards; the Industry Excellence
Award for main board companies in the plantations and mining sector as
well as the Presentation Award for the Best Annual Report in Bahasa
Malaysia. Other winners include Pharmaniaga Bhd, Petronas Gas Bhd, British
American Tobacco (M) Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, IJM CorporationBhd, CIMB
Bhd and Island & Peninsular Bhd, among others.
