JCNN News Summaries - Japan Corporate News Network, Sep 21, 2004 by Aki Tsukioka

Pfizer Japan (NASDAQ:PFE) announced September 17 that it has launched three new formulations for its growth hormone injection series Genotropin: Genotorpin MiniQuick s.c. inj. 0.6mg, 1.0mg, and 1.4mg.

The disposable injection enables the administration of a single dose of Genotropin Lyophilized Powder (somatropn [rDNA origin] for injection) through a simple procedure.

The Genotropin injection is frequently used in the treatments for children of short stature with Tuner's syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and chronic renal failure.

Having approved for the first time in Denmark in 1996, the Genotropin MiniQuick series has been sold in 20 countries.
