Sumitomo, Sumitomo Metals, and ThyssenKrupp Automotive Tie-up in

Sumitomo Metal Industries (TSE: 5405) , Sumitomo Corporation (TSE: 8053) and ThyssenKrupp Automotive, have jointly announced that that ThyssenKrupp invest in Huizhou Sumikin Forging Co., Ltd., (HSFC) a joint venture company set up by Sumitomo Metals and Sumitomo in Huizhou, Guangzhou, China.
Huizhou Sumikin Forging Co. was established by the tow later companies in July 2003 and engages in manufacturing and selling forged crankshafts.
ThyssenKrupp will invest to an ownership of 34% of equity interest in HSFC. The three companies will jointly operate and manage the business.
HSFC is now undertaking trial run in preparation for the commercial operation commencing in November 2004. The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on November 8, 2004.
