JCNN News Summaries - Japan Corporate News Network, Dec 16, 2004 by Aki Tsukioka

Toyo Engineering Corporation (TSE: 6330) has received an order from Oman Methanol Company (OMC) to design a methanol manufacturing plant, the first to be built in the country.

As an OMC's alliance partner, Toyo Engineering will join this project to offer basic and detailed designs as well as to license its proprietary technologies and gas tubes, MRF-ZR, for synthetic gas production, which can help reduce the amount of synthesized catalysts by 30-40% compared to conventional methods.

Scheduled to be commissioned in the Sohar area in 2007, the plant will have a daily output capacity of 3,000 tons.
