Yokogawa Electric ProSafe-RS Safety System Receives SIL3

Yokogawa Electric (TSE: 6841) announced on March 23 that German certification organization TUV Rheinland has certified the compliance of the Yokogawa ProSafe-RS Safety System with the IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 international functional safety standard and approved its use in SIL3 applications.
ProSafe-RS is the world's first safety system to receive SIL3 certification under the IEC 61511 standard, a functional safety standard for the process automation established by the International Electrotechnical Commission in 2004.
The TUV certification attests to the high level of Yokogawa's technology and the quality of its safety instrument system.
