Hitachi Software Engineering to Ship Compact Finger Vein

Tokyo, June 25, 2005 - (JCN) - Hitachi Software Engineering (TSE: 9694) (HitachiSoft) announced on June 22 that it will begin marketing the Johmon J200, a compact finger vein authentication system, on June 30. The new product, which measures 78x95x55mm and weighs 150g, provides biometrics authentication solutions.

Used in combination with HIBUN, the company's information security solution, the J200 provides a much safer environment for PC login and network access.

The product sells for 39,800 yen ($365). HitachiSoft aims to sell 120,000 units in the first two years.
