Fujitsu Launches Web-based Electronic Medical Record System to Large

Tokyo, July 4, 2005 - (JCN) - Fujitsu announced on July 4 that it has developed HOPE/EGMAIN-EX WebEdition, a web-based medical record system designed for large-scale hospitals (more than 300 beds), and began shipping it on the same day.
The new system runs Servlet/JSPm a Web program which eliminates the need of keeping applications on the terminals.
HOPE/EGMAIN-EX WebEdition enables smoother collaboration among medical facilities and allows hospitals to provide integrated medical care.
The system in the standard configuration is offered for 120 million yen ($1.1 mil) or upward. The company expects to sell 50 packages by year-end 2007.

Fujitsu has also released HOPE/EGMAIN-NX, an electronic medical record system for medium-sized hospitals (50-150 beds). With its high scalability and wide array of options, HOPE/EGMAIN-N can be configured to suit the specific needs and budgets of mid-zied hospitals.
The standard configuration system sells for 60 million yen ($550,000) or upward. The company expects to sell 200 units by year- end 2007.
Fujitsu will exhibit both new systems at International Modern Hospital Show 2005 to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 13 to 15.
