Oncolys Biopharma, Yale University Conclude Licensing Agreement in

Tokyo, June 28, 2006 - (JCN) - Oncolys Biopharma announced on June 27 that it has signed a licensing agreement with Yale University for 4'-ethynylstavudine (Ed4T), a new compound for the treatment of HIV- 1.

Under the agreement, Oncolys Biopharma will receive an exclusive license to develop and commercialize Ed4T from Yale University. Ed4T, which was developed by Yale University, Kagoshima University and Showa University, is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor with enhanced anti-HIV-1 activity.

Going forward, Oncolys Biopharma plans to conduct preclinical trials and begin phase I and II clinical trials that target HIV/AIDS patients with resistance to HAART (Highly Active Anti-Retroviral Therapy) by 2008.
