Hitachi and NICT Develop a Personal Authentication System Using

Tokyo, Mar 12, 2007 - (JCN) - Hitachi and NICT have developed a personal authentication system that uses mobile phones. The system allows people to conduct fingerprint and biometric authentication with their mobile phones.
A memory card is used to upload biometric information into the mobile phone and a fingerprint authentication device is built into the mobile phone terminal. The mobile phones can be used to correspond with other terminals such as ATM's to conduct fingerprint and biometric authentication.
