Letter: Dalek invasion
0 Comments | Daily Post; Liverpool (UK), May 4, 2005 | by Dave Ross, Rock Ferry, Wirral
I REALLY enjoyed the return of the Daleks on BBC 1's Doctor Who adventure on Saturday night.
We made it a family event and I was able to see my own children watching the metal monster from behind the sofa just as I had done in the 1980s when I was a kid. My own father was with us and he repeated his old story that he had met the real Daleks in Liverpool back in the 1960s.
He remembers being taken to a department store just before Christmas by my gran, and instead of Father Christmas in his grotto he found himself inside a flying saucer full of 'real' Daleks. He says he screamed so loud that the Daleks let him and his mum go free.
