A TV burst into flames when a five year old turned it on while his parents were in bed.
Little Luke Davison was praised for his quick thinking yesterday after he shut the lounge door to stop acrid smoke billowing through the house.
He then cooly ran upstairs to rouse his sleeping mum and dad at their home in Tan Yr Hafod, Gwernaffield.
Luke's mum Kirsty got him out the house while dad Jimmy, chef at the Bryn Howell in Llangollen, managed to put out the blaze.
Just days before, Ysgol y Waun pupil Luke had been on a school visit to Deeside Fire Station for safety tips. He put the tips into practice when the TV ignited because of an electrical fault.
