When Angela Oakley decided she wanted to run her own business, she knew exactly which one.

So when the opportunity came for the nail care professional to take over a long-established nail salon in North Ormesby, she leapt at the chance.

"Running my own business was something I'd always wanted to do," she explained.

"Knowing the owners, I knew it had a good client list. Taking over a business I knew made good sense."

Since buying the salon in November 2004, Angela has worked hard to expand the services offered at the Oakley Nailcare Centre.

As well as nail care, the Beaumont Road salon offers sun beds, spray tanning and a monthly clinic offering botox injections.

Courses in spray tanning and acrylic nails are also available.

The 30-year-old is also looking to turn one of the downstairs rooms into a hairdressing salon.

"It's quite a big building and there are a lots of rooms so plenty of options," said Angela.

"We're always looking to meet client demand, and offer them services we think they will take advantage of."
