MP CALLS FOR U18s SUNBED BAN
0 Comments | Liverpool Echo (Liverpool, England), July 31, 2009
AN MP has called for under 18s to be banned from using sun beds.
New evidence from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), has shown they are as damaging as smoking.
It has moved sunbeds up to risk group on, directly linking their use to skin cancer.
MP for West Lancs Rosie Cooper said: "The use of sunbeds by young people, particularly in unstaffed and coin operated tanning salons, is something I raised back in 2007. I'm concerned by this new information which highlights the very serious health risks."
